Davie County residents living with diabetes now have a resource to help them manage their disease. The Diabetes Self Management Education Program at the Davie County Health Department works with pre-diabetics, Type 1 / Type 2 diabetics and gestational diabetics to help them better understand the fundamentals of the disease including:


  • What is diabetes?
  • Medication education
  • Blood glucose monitoring education
  • Acute and chronic disease monitoring
  • The importance of physical activity
  • Nutrition education for the diabetic patient
  • And so much more…

This fantastic resource is open to residents of Davie County who would like some nutritional direction on how to better manage their disease or disorder. The MNT program allows you to meet with a registered dietitian and get nutrition education you can use in your daily life to make healthier choices.
