I want to get vaccinated, what do I need to know?

Davie County Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health offers COVID-19 vaccines by appointment Tuesday and Thursday. COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone 5 and older. The Pfizer (Comirnaty) and Moderna vaccines are recommended as the preferred choice for both initial series and boosters. The Pfizer vaccine is available to those age 5+ and the Moderna vaccine is available to those age 18+. Although the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are recommended, people who prefer to receive the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine or cannot receive an mRNA vaccine will continue to have access to it. The J&J vaccine is available to those age 18+. 


What about boosters?

Boosters are available for all COVID-19 Vaccines. If you are eligible, you should get a booster. Apart from boosters, there are third/additional vaccine doses available to people with compromised immune systems. Additional information on booster shots.



How do I schedule a vaccine appointment or get my questions answered?

Call our COVID-19 Vaccination Line at (336) 753 - 6779. They can also help with things like supplying you with additional proof of your vaccination. 


Where do I go when it's time for my appointment?

Davie County HHS, Division of Public Health is located inside the new Government Center at 154 Government Center Drive in Mocksville. This is the renovated Old Boyles Furniture building at Farmington and I - 40. 


Where else can I get vaccinated?

Davie County HHS hosts no-cost community COVID-19 vaccination clinics, two times a week. No appointments are needed, and all are welcome.


Cooleemee Vaccine Clinic

When: Every Thursday, 5 PM - 7 PM
Where: The Bridge@197 Main in Cooleemee. 197 Main St, Cooleemee, NC 27014.
Additional Info: The Bridge offers a free community meal each Thursday at 5:30 PM


A Storehouse for Jesus Vaccine Clinic
When: Every Tuesday, 9 AM - 12:30 PM
Where: A Storehouse For Jesus, 675 Lexington Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028.

Other vaccine providers in the County include Walmart, the Walgreens in Mocksville and the Walgreens in Advance, the CVS in Advance, and Davie Discount Drug in Cooleemee.


I don't have transportation, what should I do?

YVEDDI Public Transportation offers affordable rides to COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Your ride to your appointment and back home may range from $4 - $6. In order to schedule your ride with YVEDDI, Call (336) 679 - 2071, then press 3.
