Davie County Emergency Management continues to keep a close eye on Hurricane Florence. Based on information received from the National Weather Service earlier today, Davie County should anticipate:
-- Rains and winds arriving late Thursday and into Friday morning. Our main impacts will be on Saturday and Sunday. Rain totals of 7-10 inches. Winds east of I-77 estimated on Friday through Sunday of 20-40 miles per hour with possible guts of 50 mph.
-- The storm is estimated to make landfall between Wilmington and Little River late Thursday or Friday morning. The storm is expected to track across the NC SC borders and pass between Charlotte and Columbia.
Residents are encouraged to keep cell phones charged in advance of the storm. In the event that you experience a power outage, please DO NOT call 9-1-1. Outages can be reported to the following:

In the event of widespread power outages or severe flooding, emergency shelters will be established and additional communication will be forthcoming.
