Athletics
Davie County Recreation & Parks prides itself on giving each child a great opportunity to learn the sports that they wish. It is the department’s duty to provide quality and skilled coaches to help those children learn. This page gives our volunteer coaches the chance to view and print out the documents they receive upon becoming a coach or instructor, or acquiring about coaching with the Davie County Recreation & Parks Department.
Requirements
Volunteer coaches and instructors need to be 18 years of age or older (If ages 15-17, please email our Athletic Program Director and have confirmation from the legal guardian, either with a letter, email, or phone call. Youth volunteer coaches serve as assistant coaches and will not have their own team.) The affidavit must also be printed, completed, and sent to Recreation and Parks prior to applicant approval. This is for minor age applicants only.
If you wish to volunteer to coach, complete the online coach’s application, pass a criminal background check, and adhere to DCRP's Zero Tolerance Policy. Or contact the Athletic Program Director. Every head coach, assistant coach, anyone helping the team, and anyone wishing to instruct a class or activity must complete a background check. Background checks are good for one calendar year.
We thank all of our coaches and instructors for their time and efforts as they help us teach children to grow in every aspect of life.
Documents
Reservations are required for the use of athletic fields and facilities. Reservation requests must be submitted in advance to the Davie County Recreation & Parks Department, and this can be done online. This is only a request for the reservation or rental, which must then be reviewed and approved to use the requested fields or facility. Completing and submitting a request does not guarantee approval of your rental. The Athletic Program Director will contact you upon receiving your request to discuss your Athletic Rental if approved.
