Reading with Ranger gives young people an opportunity to prepare and read to a patient, listening, live dog in the library. Ranger is a "Tail Waggin' Tutor" with Therapy Dog International certification. Ranger and his owners, The Gaithers, will be available for 15 min. appointments on Thursdays from 11 am -noon and Saturdays 11 am until noon during SRP'18. Appointments must be scheduled at least 2 days in advance to ensure Ranger will be here, his family may decide to take time off in the summer. Do you play in a band or solo on an acoustic guitar? The library is hosting its very first open mic concert! Come and share your musical talent with the community. Players will be limited to two songs or 10 minutes of playing. All songs need to be appropriate for a wide audience. Anyone who can play an instrument or who loves to sing is welcome to participate! Light refreshments will be served! Registration is required for folks wanting to perform and spots are limited.
