  1. Read with Ranger

    Reading with Ranger gives young people an opportunity to prepare and read to a patient, listening, live dog in the library. Ranger is a "Tail Waggin' Tutor" with Therapy Dog International certification. Ranger and his owners, The Gaithers, will be available for 15 min. appointments on most Thursdays from 11-noon pm and and Saturdays 11 am until noon during the SRP'18. Appointments must be scheduled at least 2 days in advance to ensure Ranger will be here, his family may schedule time off during the summer. Families can learn more by contacting Miss Julie in the afternoons at 336-753-6038 or email anytime.

    Youth Rising into Middle School grades interested in reading a common book and then discussing it with other club members and Mrs. Archer. The books are selected from the MS Battle of the Books '18-'19 list. Registration required.

    Youth in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grades will practice oral reading with creative dramatics and music.     Have you ever wanted to write songs but just never knew how to get started? Come to this FREE introductory class on how to get started writing song lyrics. The class will look at famous song lyrics for inspiration and there will be a creative writing exercise. Light refreshments will be served!
