AARP trained and certified volunteers are here to prepare taxes and e-file them at no cost.  Returns are done for all ages and membership in AARP in not a requirement.  For full schedule and what you need to bring with you, please click here.

SENIOR BOOK CLUB   

Tuesday, February 19 @ 1:00pm 
Leader: Genny Hinkle 
At each meeting you will discuss the book that was read the month before and receive the new book to read. Books are provided at no charge. Co-sponsored by the Davie County Public Library. Open to those 55 and older. RSVP to 336-753-6230.

SILVERARTS SOCIAL

Have you always wondered exactly what SilverArts is all about?  Come learn more as previous competitors show their past entries and talk about their experiences.  Open to adults 50 & older.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.

CORNHOLE LEAGUE


Wednesdays, February 20 - March 13 @ 1:00pm - Recreation Department Gym
Show off your cornhole skills and have some fun.  Players will be assigned partners the first week and teams will play each week.  The final week will be a playoff to crown the champion.  Open to adults 55 and older.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.

HOMEBOUND MEAL VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Bring your supplies or use some of ours.  Coloring is a fun, relaxing hobby that's not just for kids anymore.  Open to adults 55 and older.  No pre-registration required.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION

February is Black History Month and we are pleased to join once again with Graham Funeral Home to celebrate.  This event is always filled with great music and a great speaker.  Lunch will be served at 11:30 for those who wish to stay.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.  To reserve a lunch you must RSVP by Feb. 20.

SENIOR GAMES FIELD DAY

Location:  Cooleemee Recreation Center - Zachary House
Come try your hand at several of the Senior Games sporting event at the first ever Senior Games field day.  Several events will be set up for you to enjoy and light refreshments will be served.  Open to those 55 and older.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.

CRAFT TIL YOU DROP


Saturday, March 9 -9:00am - 3:00pm
This day is no longer just for scrappers! We invite scrapbookers, quilters, painters and woodcarvers to bring your supplies and get ready to have fun!  For six hours we will create, give away door prizes, learn from others and have a light lunch.  Come for the whole time or just part of the day - whatever suites your schedule.  Open to the community of all ages.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.

ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP

This group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month and is open to adults of any age.  It is intended for those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or other dementia but is open to any caregiver that can benefit.  Meetings may consist of sharing time and/or guest speakers.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.

WELCOME TO MEDICARE


Friday, March 15 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
If you will be eligible soon for Medicare, learn about the many options available so that you can make the choices that are right for you.  This program is open to anyone who will soon be on Medicare.  A light meal will be served after the program.  RSVP to 336-753-6230.
