January 2, 2020 marks the 10th Anniversary of North Carolina's smoke-free restaurants and bars law. This landmark legislation is still unique among Southeastern states and continues to protect workers, patrons, and families from the health hazards of secondhand smoke.

Project Lazarus-Community-based prescription drug overdose prevention and dug take back program that originated in Wilkes County but is being implemented state-wide to address a growing prescription drug overdose epidemic.
There are 3 permanent medication drop box locations where people can dispose of their medications. These medications can be prescription, vitamins, over-the-counter, etc. No Liquids Please.
The 3 locations are:
Foster Drug Pharmacy, Sheriff's Department, Davie Discount Drug in Cooleemee.
Vial of Life program is an organized method of providing EMS personnel with pertinent medical information. Please contact the health department for more information.
Buckle Up Davie- is a car seat program where the Davie County Health Department and EMS are able to help Davie County residents with a child passenger safety seat. Please call 336-753-6750 for more information. The program is by appointment only! Seats are provided by United Way.
