General & Primary Elections
In a general election everyone gets the same ballot and you may vote a straight party ballot or you may split your ticket and vote for any candidate on the ballot. In the primary election you are restricted to voting in the party with which you are affiliated. If you register unaffiliated you may request voting privileges in either the Democrat or Republican primary upon entering the voting enclosure. If you are registered unaffiliated and do not request to vote in one of the party primaries you will only be given the non-partisan races, bond, and amendment issues.
