The Town of Mocksville is installing approximately 1,200 feet of new water line on Main Street (Hwy 158) to replace old water lines. These are some of the oldest water lines in Town and need to be replaced prior to new tree planting and streetscape improvements. Work is scheduled to begin June 12 and will take several months to complete.
During construction, traffic on Main Street will be limited. Most through traffic will be detoured around the project area using US 64, Salisbury Street and Gaither Street. Through trucks will be encouraged to use a wider detour. Local traffic and on-street parking will be open, to the extent possible, but there will be closures around the work zone while crews are installing the pipe. Water service interruptions will be minimal and are not expected to last more than one hour. Each customer will be individually contacted before any scheduled service interruption and times will be coordinated to minimize inconvenience.
For questions contact the Town of Mocksville at (336) 753-6700.
For emergencies call 911 and the dispatcher will contact the operator on duty.
